Privacy Policy — Emulsion Cam
Effective date: July 7, 2026
Emulsion Cam is a film-simulation camera app. It is built so that nothing ever leaves your device.
Data we collect
None. Emulsion Cam collects no personal data, no usage analytics, no crash reports, and no device identifiers. The app has no internet access: it does not request the network permission and contains no networking code, advertising, or third-party analytics SDKs.
If you installed Emulsion Cam from Google Play, Google may report aggregated crash and performance statistics to us through the Play Console, and the app may ask the Google Play Store whether a newer version is available (so we can require an update when an old version would no longer work correctly). Both are performed by Google Play itself under Google's privacy policy — the app sends nothing on its own.
Camera
Emulsion Cam uses the camera to take photos and record videos — that is the app's sole purpose. Camera frames are processed on your device to apply film looks and are never transmitted anywhere.
Microphone
The microphone is used only while you record a video with sound enabled, and the recording is saved only into your own video file. If you decline the microphone permission, videos are simply recorded without audio. The microphone is never accessed outside an active recording you started.
Photos and videos
Your captures are saved to your device's own gallery (DCIM/Emulsion Cam). Emulsion Cam only reads back the files it created itself; it does not request access to, read, or scan the rest of your photo library. Importing a photo for editing or a custom LUT file uses the system file picker, which shares only the single file you choose.
Saved photos contain no location data. They include a small embedded note with the film look and effect settings used, so the app can display them later.
Backups
Android's standard backup service may include the app's settings and your imported film profiles in your device's Google backup, under Google's backup terms. This is handled by Android, not by us, and can be disabled in your device's backup settings.
Children
Emulsion Cam does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version adds an online feature), the updated policy will be posted at this address before the change ships.
